A chess in schools activity, entitleed 'The 2013 Onsite Promotion for Building up National Chess Tradition Schools and the third Chess Festival of Jiangnan Primary School' was organised on 22-23 October 2013 in Chongqing, China. As Chairman of FIDE Chess in Schools Commission and Vice President of FIDE, I was invited to this event.
All of us may wonder, 'Why is Chinese Chess so successful?', 'What are the motivations behind this success and who plays the main role?' I believe some of those questions may be answered by this big pictorial report. I dedicate this report to Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, for his outstandingly excellent support to chess in schools program, as the president of FIDE. Kirsan, with China and 180 other members of FIDE, you are going to succeed with your dream of 'One billion clever people in the world!'
Since, the content is very big, I have divided the report into three parts..
