Presidential Board meeting Print

Concurrent with the World Chess Championship Match between Veselin Topalov and Vladimir Kramnik, the FIDE Presidential Board held its quarterly meeting on September 22-23 in Elista, Russia.

The Board evaluated the process initiated two years ago and judged it a success. The key result is the stabilization of the chess world, and the Topalov-Kramnik Championship Match is the best sign of this process.

Communique of Al Ain City Presidential Board Meeting Print

The 1st Quarter FIDE Presidential Board was held in the city of Al Ain, United Arab Emirates from 13 to 14 April 2006. The Meeting was hosted by Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nahayan and UAE Chess Federation President Ibrahim Al Bannai. FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov delivered his report and stated that several major FIDE competitions had been completed with success. For the future, the Board had to take a number of decisions concerning the new world championship cycle and the Olympiads. Read more.
