The Netherlands Chess Championships are taking place from 26th June to 5th July. Men's Championship is a 10-player round robin while six women will compete in a double-round robin event. GM Jan Smeets is defending the title, while the 2009 champion GM Anish Giri is top seeded player. Six-times champion Loek Van Wely is not participating. Anish Giri secured the title of the champion with one round to go.
