6th Femida Chess Tournament Print

femida_2010From November 23rd to November 26th the traditional chess tournament "Femida - Cup of Governor of Kharkiv region -2010" will take place in the Palace of Students of the National Law Academy of Ukraine named by Yaroslav the Wise.

The four best Ukrainian professional chess clubs will take part in the event: "Law Academy" Kharkiv (Ukrainian champion 2000, 2004, 2005), "PVK - Kievchess" Kiev (bronze medalist of 2009 European Club Championship, the champion of Ukraine in 2007, 2008, 2009), "A Dan Dzo – PGMB", Chernigov (bronze medalist of the European Club Championship in 2010, the champion of Ukraine 2010) and "Rovenskie lesnie zubry" Rovno (vice-champion of Ukraine 2010).

Among the participants: two-times winners of the World Chess Olympiads (2004, 2010) Ruslan Ponomariov, Pavel Eljanov and Alexander Moiseenko, Olympic champion in 2004 Andrei Volokitin, a leader of the Georgian national team Baadur Jobava, a World Champion in the team championship Vladimir Baklan, silver medalists of the World Intellectual Games Valery Aveskulov and Anton Korobov and the other elite Ukrainian and foreign Grandmasters.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held in the Palace of Students on November 23 at 13.00. The games will be held daily from 14.00 to 19.00, from 23rd to 25th November. Closing ceremony and awarding of the winners will be held on 26th November at 15.00. Live coverage of the games on www.chesslaw.org.ua/Eng from 14 p.m.
