The defending champion Economist-SGSEU-1 almost secured the second consecutive title of the European Club Cup after a tight victory versus Mika Yerevan in round six. The reigning World Junior Champion Dmitry Andreikin shone again and won a key point, and as other five games were drawn, the final score is 3.5-2.5 for Saratov team. They are now full two points ahead of the nearest followers and need only a draw in the final round to retain the trophy.

SOCAR Azerbaijan still has some chances to challenge the first place with today’s victory against St.Petersburg Chess Club. Alexei Shirov won the only decided game in this match.

A DAN DZO & PGMB Chernigiv split the points with the third-seeded ShSM-64 Moscow, thanks to GM Anton Korobov who scored against Sergey Karjakin.
