chess newsThe 85th Chess Championship of Argentina is being played as 11-round Swiss tournament, from 5th to 16th July, 2010. The playing venue is Club Argentino de Ajedrez, Paraguay 1858 Capital Federal.

The results of the Championship will complete the Argentinian team for the upcoming Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk. Total prize fund amounts to $ 18.000.

Top seeded players are GM Ruben Felgaer 2584, GM Fernando Peralta 2570, GM Damian Lemos 2550 and GM Sandro Mareco 2527, winner of the recently concluded Open Simón Bolivar Libertador.

In the women's Championship top rated are WFM Stephanie Amed 2208 and WIM Marisa Zuriel 2205.
