The Azerbaijan Chess Championship for men is taking place from 21st until 29th January in Baku. The round robin event with ten participants sports average elo of 2497. Top-seeded GM Nidjat Mamedov is currently storming through the competition and has 3.5 points from four games. But three players are following from a very close range being only half a point behind.
