The 52nd Reggio Emilia tournament was was held from 28th December 2009 until 6th January 2010. In an exciting finish Gata Kamsky succeeded to catch Zoltan Almasi on the top and even claim the trophy on better additional criteria.
Italian Grandmasters Fabiano Caruana and Michele Godena shared the third place with respectable 5.5 points from nine games.
Final standings:
1-2. Kamsky Gata USA 2695 and Almasi Zoltan HUN 2704 - 6.5
3-4. Caruana Fabiano ITA 2652 and Godena Michele ITA 2537 - 5.5
5. Jobava Baadur GEO 2696 - 4.5
6-8. Safarli Eltaj AZE 2592, Bologan Viktor MDA 2692 and Landa Konstantin RUS 2664 - 4.0
9. Brunello Sabino ITA 2507 - 3.0
10. Vocaturo Daniele ITA 2500 - 1.5
