First Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship
The first Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship was organized by the Korean Chess Federation on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation from 4-11 August 2016 at the High1 ski resort in Kongwon province, South Korea. There were many tourist attractions and fireworks displays every night and the children enjoyed themselves in the 5-star facilities. In the under-8 Open and Girls, winners were, from left to right, Bronze Cheon Sehyuk KOR, Silver CM Bao Jin Wen HKG, Gold Amgalantengis Enkh-Amgalan MGL, Bronze Kong Zi Yau Bernadette SIN, Silver Zhou Cheng Fei MAC, Gold Salihin Farah Liyana MAS. Awarding medals are Korean Chess Federation president Madame Hyun In Suk and Mongolian Chess Federation president Sainbayar Tserendorj.
In the Under-10 Girls and Open, winners were from left to right, Bronze Luu Ha Bich Ngoc VIE, Silver WCM Enkhsaran Batsaikhan MGL, Gold Tergel Munkhtur MGL, Bronze Loh Shao Kai Dylan SIN, Silver Anar Battulga MGL, Gold Meng Richard NZL.
In the Under-16 Open, winners were from left to right, Bronze Lee Jun Wei SIN, Silver FM Baterdene Tsogbayar MGL, Gold Nguyen Dang Hong Phuc VIE.
In the Under-18 Open, winners were from left to right, Bronze CM Boldoo Erdenepurev MGL, Silver FM Lee Jun Hyeok KOR, Gold Ooi Zhi Yang MAS.
In the Under-18 Girls, winners were, from left to right, Bronze Chuah Yi Ning MAS, Silver WFM Tan Li Ting MAS, Gold WFM Nur Abidah Shanti INA.
