The 17th European Individual Women’s Chess Championship was held in Mamaia, Romania from 26th May to 8th June.

Former World Champion Anna Ushenina (Ukraine) emerged winner after edging Sabrina Vega Gutierrez (Spain) on tie-break. The two players finished on 8,5/11 points each.

Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria) took the bronze medal with 8 points, thanks to better tie-break. Top 14 finishers qualified for the next Women's World Championship. More information on ECU website.
