The City Chess Federation of Nis is organizing the chess festival "Open Nis 2016" from 28th June to 6th July in Hotel Zeleni Vir in Nis, Serbia.
The Festival is conveniently scheduled between Silver Lake Open and Sports Summer Open.
The Festival consists of three tournaments:
Open A is a 9-round Swiss reserved for the players rated over 2100 FIDE. The tournament will be rated with FIDE. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes until the end of the game + 30 seconds increment starting from move 1. The prize fund is 1700 EUR. Entry fee 20 EUR.
Top rated players are GM Atalik Suat TUR 2572, GM Miljkovic Miroslav SRB 2465, IM-elect Djordjevic Vuk SRB 2415, GM Tosic Miroslav SRB 2411, GM Ivanov Mikhail RUS 2400, IM Baltag Iulian MDA 2396 etc
Open B is a 9-round Swiss reserved for the players rated 1500-2099 FIDE. The tournament will be rated with FIDE. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes until the end of the game + 30 seconds increment starting from move 1. The prize fund is 700 EUR. Entry fee 15 EUR.
Open C is a 9-round Swiss reserved for cadets U14 and U1500 players. The tournament will not be rated with FIDE. The time control is 60 minutes per player.
