The Asian Youth Chess Championships that were conducted in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. After nine days of intense chess, fighting spirit and great sportsmanship, we can finally declare the new champions for under 6 right through to under 18.

U8 Open – Artin Ashraf (Iran)
U8 Girls – Nu Quynh Duong Ton (Vietnam)
U10 Open – Lkhagvajamts Ochirbat (Mongolia)
U10 Girls – Davaakhuu Munkhzul (Mongolia)
U12 Open – R Praggnanandhaa (India)
U12 Girls – Deshmukh Divya (India)
U14 Open – Nodirbek Yakubboev (Uzbekistan)
U14 Girls – Anwesha Mishra (India)
U16 Open – Arash Tahbaz (Iran)
U16 Girls – Mobina Alinasab (Iran)
U18 Open – Mersad Khodashenas (Iran)
U18 Girls – Thanh Thuy Tien Nguyen (Vietnam)

The organisers did an excellent job and with a lot of media coverage. Sainbayar Tserendorj, President of Mongolian Chess Federation and FIDE Executive Board Member for Asia should be thanked for hosting this event. In the future, they are ready to host many more events whether it is Asian or World events.
