Success of juniors at First Saturday Budapest April events

Former silver medalist of several European Youth Championships, now still only 17 years old player from Ilichovsk (a small town near Odessa) (UKR), Shtembuliak Evgeny came to Budapest in hope of making his third IM norm.

Evgeny
FM SHTEMBULIAK, Evgeny (UKR)

His excellent tactical skills and his outstanding ability of deep concentration in the hardest conditions helped him in achieving even his first GM norm. He named IM Tisevich Roman (UKR) as his trainer and mentor. The three GM-s put up quite good forms leaving less chance to the other young talents. All players were titled so it was a really high level tournament.

The most experienced IM, Pavlovic Dejan S (SRB) won the IM section with great finish.

Dejan
IM PAVLOVIC, Dejan (SRB)

Damia Angelo (ITA) played nicely in unique romantic style but took too much risk sometimes.

Terbe Julianna (HUN) former U16 National Champion has achieved her first WIM norm. Her progress seems to be significant and continuous since she works with FM Adam Radnai (HUN) who also performed an IM norm since they have trainings together.

The greatest sensation of the group was delivered by the ten years old Makoveev Ilya (RUS). He won 112 FIDE Rating points. He has got 2520 online rating in Blitz category that reveals his sharp, witty mind which may lead him to bright future.

The highest rating section was an interesting encounter of three senior masters and three young talents. A great tactician, Török Tamás Titusz (HUN) presented his brilliant skills in light style creating really amusing games.

torok
TÖRÖK, Tamas Titusz (HUN)

Kovácsy Barnabás (13, HUN) proved second time this year that he well deserves the Arena International Master title.

Milikow Yoav (11, ISR) is already Arena GM and seeing them play suggest that these newly introduced FIDE titles (online Arena) must be taken seriously.

yoav
AGM MILIKOW, Yoav (ISR)

Zvereva Margarita (10, RUS), who is European Schools Champion (U, 2015) though the youngest, was equal opponent of all adults and the highly titled older young boys.

The traditional group photo (April 2016)

IM Kantor Gergely (HUN) won the event this time. It is not a surprise, but the way he achieved it winning all the games was great.
