68 players of 10 countries came together in Budapest for the Budapest Spring 2016 Hotel MEDOSZ Open tournament. There were 12 FIDE-Title holders including 7 IM-titled. FM Mark Lyell (ENG) proved that his three IM norms he had achieved before were certainly well deserved. The question remains how to sustain his great form so that rating of 2400 would be finally achieved for his IM Title. Staying in Hungary at present for teaching English language for highly advanced pupils, he has got abundant choices in chess tournaments to achieve his goals.

The best woman player Afshar Niusha (IRI) could increase her FIDE Rating points again after First Saturday March in Budapest, getting closer to her goal of achieving WGM title.

Ghadiri Radhmer also from Iran, won best player award in his rating category and he came second in the U 18 age group on top.

GHADIRI, Radmehr (IRI)

The youngest player of the tournament Juhasz Agoston (11, HUN) won the highest number of FIDE rating points (120). It is a special record that rarely happens. He had also won over 100 points in his previous tournament at Art Pub Cup Open, in Budapest. Such a quick a progress predicts a new Hungarian chess star born. He was also rewarded with fair play award since he always reminded his adult opponents when they forgot to press their clocks after move. The opponents must have been too much confused by the surprisingly good moves made by the young player.

JUHASZ, Agoston (HUN)

There was a 6 player delegation of Kuwait who had nice opportunity to survey their level and for learning the game of chess so as to be even more competitive in international fields.
