WGM Adriana Nikolova wins 16th Mediterranean Flower Chess Tournament |

The traditional 16th Women’s International Chess Tournament “Mediterranean Flower” was organized from March 6th to March 12th 2016 in the city of Rijeka, Croatia.
The event was a 10-player single round-robin tournament with an average Elo rating of 2153 and players from Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Switzerland took part.
Top seed WGM Adriana Nikolova from Bulgaria scored 7.5/9 points to lift the trophy. She won six games and drew the rest to add 19 new Elo points to her rating.
The second place was taken by Russian player WGM Karina Ambartsumova who finished with 7/9, leaving the nearest follower WIM Ljilja Drljevic from Serbia 1.5 points behind.
The 2014 World chess champion for girls U14, Laura Unuk from Slovenia, emerged fourth in the final ranking with 5 points.
