Frode Urkedal convincing winner of 7th Manacor GM Tournament |

The 7th Manacor GM Chess Tournament was held from February 21st to February 28th 2016, in Porto Christo, Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
The event was a 10-player single round-robin tournament, valid for GM norms.
The 23-year-old Norwegian player IM Frode Urkedal emerged a convincing winner with 7/9 points and Elo performance of 2715. He fulfilled a GM norm and added 24 new Elo points to his rating.
Three players remained two points behind the winner to share the second place: IM Daniil Yuffa from Russia, GM Olexandr Bortnyk from Ukraine and GM Kirill Stupak from Belarus. They scored 5/9 points each, but Yuffa prevailed on better tie-break criteria to take the silver while Bortnyk remained third.
