The 2016 Zurich Supertournament ended on Monday, February 15. The classical chess part of the event was carried out under a new time format – 40 minutes plus 10 second per move for the entire game. In blitz the players had 4 minutes and 2 bonus seconds.

Wins in classical chess were rewarded with 2 points (1 points for a draw), wins in blitz were worth 1 point (0.5 for a draw).

Giri, Shirov 3

Blitz round:
Anand, Kramnik, Nakamura 3.5
Giri 2.5
Aronian 1.5
Shirov 0.5

Final standings:
Nakamura, Anand 10.5

Hikaru Nakamura wins the Zurich Chess Challenge for a second year in a row. Vishy Anand remained second due to a worse tie-break.
