Jorge Cori storms through Peru Grand Prix Final 2016 |

The Peruvian Chess Federation organized 2016 Peru Grand Prix Final from January 18th to January 24th, in Lima, the capital city of Peru.
The event was a 12-player single round-robin tournament with time control 90’ + 30” and average Elo rating of 2388.
Peruvian top player GM Jorge Cori emerged a convincing winner with no less than 1.5 points advance in front of the nearest followers. He scored 8.5/11 points to lift the trophy.
The second place was shared by GM Cristian Cruz and IM Deivy Vega Siguenas with 7 points, but Cruz took the silver on a superior tie-break score.
The medalists qualified for the Peruvian Olympic team and will represent their country at the Baku Chess Olympiad 2016.
