![]() The Highest League of the Armenian championship was organized by the Armenian Chess Federation in a 12-player single round-robin format with time control 90’/40 moves + 30’ + 30”. The 2006 World Junior champion GM Zaven Andriasian emerged a solo winner with 8/10 points, leaving the runner-up GM Robert Hovhannisyan half a point behind. Andriasian was barely sixth seed but his blistering start (5.5/6 points) and solid play at the finish (five draws out of 5 games) ensured him the title. The champion added new 16 Elo points to come back to “Club 2600+”.
