Match Tournament in Moscow Print

The traditional Match Tournament "The Nutcracker" was opened tonight at the Vladimir Dvorkovich chess club in Moscow, Russia.

The two teams will play the classical and rapid games according to the Scheveningen system. The win in the classical time control earns 2 points, and a draw earns 1 point. A win in rapid is worth 1 point, while draw will count as 0,5 points.

The team of experienced players, "The Kings", consists of Boris Gelfand, Peter Leko, Alexander Morozevich and European champion Evgeny Najer.

The team of young players, "The Princes", consists of Vladislav Artemiev, World Junior champion Mikhail Antipov, Ivan Bukavshin and Grigory Oparin.

There will also be a junior tournament with the same format.
