The WALTON Premier Division Chess League 2015 sponsored by the renowned and famous electrical, electronics, automobiles and home appliances Manufacturer Company WALTON group in Bangladesh and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation began from 6 December 2015 Sunday at N.S.C. Tower Auditorium Lounge of National Sports Council in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mr. F. M. Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn) First Senior Additional Director of Walton Group inaugurates the event as chief guest. Mr. Md. Mahmudul Haque Operative Director of Hi-Tech Industries Limited (Policy & HRM & Admin) of Walton Group was present as special guest. Mr. K M. Shahidullah Vice President of Bangladesh Chess Federation & Chairman of the Chess League Committee presided the ceremony. Mr. Md. Mokaddes Hossain Vice President of Bangladesh Chess Federation, Mr. Morsalin Ahmed Acting General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation and Secretary of Chess League Committee, Ln. Mazibur Rahman Howladar Executive Member of Bangladesh Chess Federation and President of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club and GM Dibyendu Barua of India gave speeches. Total 9 teams are participating and the event and the events being held in a single round-robin league system. Teams are: 1. Bangladesh Navy, 2. Pritom-Prism Chess Club Narayanganj, 3. Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club, 4. Golden Sporting Club, 5. Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, 6. Bangladesh Navy Junior Chess Team, Titas Club (a organisation of the Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Co. Ltd.), 8. Sultana Kamal Smirity Pathagar and 9.Leonine Chess Club. Total 5 GM’s 3 IM’s, 2 WIM’s and 12 FM’s are participating in the event. Highest rated of the event is Ghosh Diptaya of India 2550.
Reigning champion Bangladesh Navy composed their team with FM Rahman, Md. Taibur, GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, GM Hossain Enamul, Bangladesh National Champion and IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, GM Rahman, FM Ahmed Sk. Nasir. Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club composed Indian GGM Barua, Dibyendu, India IM Ghosh Diptayan, FM Hasan Mehdi, GM Murshed Niaz, FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman and CM Chowdhury Sohel. Golden Sporting Club composed their team with IM Abu Sufian Shakil, Roy Prantik of India, FM Debaraj Chatterjee, Srijit Paul of India, WIM Hamid Rani and Rahi Md. Masum. Titas Club composed their team with FM Haque Rezaul, Rajdeep Sarkar of India, FM Hasan Eunus, Ahmed Shafiq, WIM Dhar Barua Saheli of India and FM Uddin Md. Saif. Lowest team of the final ranking of participating 9 teams will be relegated in 1st Division of 2016. Premier Division Chess League is the highest ranking team event in Bangladesh.
