The 2015 Tanzania Open Chess Championship was taking place from November 27th through November 30th, in Dar es Salaam, the largest city of Tanzania.
The event was organized by Tanzania Chess Association in an 8-round Swiss format with tempo of play 90’ + 30”.
IM Elijah Emojong from Uganda emerged a convincing winner with 7/8 points, leaving the nearest followers a full point behind.
The second place was shared in a three-way tie by Cornelis Klaver (RSA), Vishal Didwanie (IND) and Brian Kidula (KEN), but Klaver clinched the silver on a better tie-break criteria, while Didwanie remained third.
