Wang YueThe 5th Chinese Chess Master Rapid Men’s Championship was organized by the Chinese Chess Federation from November 20th through November 22nd, 2015, in Shenzhen, a major city in Guangdong Province of China.

The event was an 8 player single round-robin tournament with tempo of play 25’ + 10” and an average rating of 2668.

The top seed participant and Chinese Olympic player GM Yue Wang emerged a convincing winner with 5.5/7 points, leaving the nearest followers a full point behind.

Wang started with dazzling 5/5 score and a draw in the penultimate round was enough to claim the tournament with one round to go. He was defeated only by GM Hua Ni in the last round of the competitions but the result was insignificant for the gold medal. Wang grabbed the trophy and added new 11 Elo points to his rating.

GM Liren Ding and GM Hua Ni tied for the second place at 4.5 points each but a better tie-break criteria decided the silver in favor of Chinese highest rated player Ding.
