India Scores Double Victory in Asian Amateur Championship in Brunei

Shyam Sundar of India, rated 1762, won the Asian Amateur Championship held 7-12 September 2015 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

Sundar prevailed in a 3-way tie with Mohd Saptin Sabri of Malaysia and Stewart Manaog of the Philippines, each scoring 7 out of 9 points.

A total of 62 players from 11 countries participated in the Swiss system tournament. Hajra Chandreyee of India beat Wei Xin Rosamund Koo of Malaysia in the championship match to win the Asian Amateur Women's title.
