IM Deac, GM Wagner and GM Buhmann top scorers in 9th Kings Tournament Print

The 9th Kings Tournament took place from October 30th through November 3rd, 2015, at Hotel & Spa BinderBubi****, in Medias, the second largest city in Transylvania, Romania.

The event was a 5-player Sheveningen match between Romania and Germany.

The first place was shared in a three-way tie by young masters IM Bogdan-Daniel Deac from Romania and GM Dennis Wagner from Germany and experienced GM Rainer Buhmann, also from Germany. The whole group scored 3.5/5 points each.

Despite being the lowest rated representatives of their countries, the 14-year-old Deac and 18-year-old Wagner finished on top of the standings unbeaten on “+2”.

In the team standings Germany emerged a winner after 3 victories, 1 draw and 1 loss.
