The final stage of the 1st FIDE World Online Amateur Blitz Championship 2015 was held on 15th October, at 13:00 GMT/UTC, on the official FIDE Online platform.

The event was a 16 player round-robin tournament with a total prize fund in the amount of US$ 4,250 and US$ 1,200 reserved for the winner.

The best 16 players qualified after a series of 8 open tournaments and semifinal, starting from April 9th, 2015.

The winner of the tournament and 2015 FIDE Online Amateur Blitz champion is Johan Muhamad from Indonesia, who scored 12, leaving the nearest followers 1.5 points behind.

AFM Miguel Mendoza De La Cruz from Peru took the silver with 10.5 points, while Konstantinos Samaridis from Greece and Rajesh Kumar Nayak from India tied for the third place at 10 points each.

Russian player AFM Andrei Mesheriakov finished on top with 12.5/15 points but thanks to the recognition of the innovative ACE Guard anti-cheating technology, he got disqualified from the tournament.

Despite the above-mentioned cheating case, FOA is pleased with the overall fair play at the FIDE Online Amateur World Blitz Championship and is proud to congratulate the first FOA Amateur chess champion Johan Muhamad!
