Ahmed Adly wins 10th Mediterranean Championship 2015 Print

AdlyThe 10th Mediterranean Individual Chess Championship took place from October 15th through October 26th, at Rivera Grand Hotel, in Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon.

The event was a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament, played under the patronage of FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.

The time control was 90’/40 moves + 30’ + 30”, while the prize fund was in total of US$ 7,500.

55 players from 17 different Mediterranean countries took part in the competition. Egyptian GM Ahmed Adly emerged a clear winner with 7.5/9 points, leaving the nearest followers half a point behind. Adly added another trophy to his rich collection and took the top prize of US$ 1,250.

GM Mohamed Haddouche from Algeria and FM Anastasios Pavlidis from Greece tied for the second place with 7 points.

IM/ WGM Sophie Milliet from France was the best female player with 5.5 points.
