The 31st European Club Cup and the 20th European Club Cup for Women started in Skopje/FYR Macedonia.
The tournaments take place from 17th October (arrival and opening) to 25th October 2015 (departure) at the 5* hotel Aleksandar Palace.
Both events will be held in 7 rounds, played in the Swiss system in accordance with the ECU Tournament Rules.
50 teams in Open and 12 teams in Women’s section registered for this year’s edition of European Club Cup, with the total number of 417 chess players participating.
The top seed in Open section is the last year’s champion SOCAR from Azerbaijan with the average rating of 2771 ELO points, while in Women’s section the first seed is Chess Club Nona from Georgia with 2510 average rating.
The organizer of the events are Municipality Karpos (Skopje) and Chess Club “Gambit Asseko SEE”, under the auspices of the European Chess Union. The Chief Arbiter is IA Ashot Vardapetyan (ARM).
The opening ceremony is scheduled on 17th October at 6.00 pm, and the 1st round starts on 18th October at 3.00 pm.
