GM Chatalbashev winner of Xtracon GM Tournament 2015 Print

Xtracon GM Tournament

The 2015 edition of Xtracon GM Tournament was held from October 12th through October 18th, at the Asgård Skole, Norsvey 2 in Køge, Denmark.

The event is a 9-round Swiss open tournament with the following format:
- 3 points for victory
- 1 point for draw
- 0 points for loss

69 players from 15 different countries were vying for the prize fund in the amount of 25,000 DKK.

GM Boris Chatalbashev from Bulgaria scored 20/27 points to lift the trophy, adding 12 new Elo points to his rating.

The second place was shared by GM Nikita Maiorov from Belarus and GM Eduardas Rozentalis from Lithuania at 19 points each, but the latter prevailed on a superior tie-break score to take the silver.

WGM Evgeniya Doluhanova from Ukraine emerged the best female player with 15 points and 16th place in the final standings.
