GM Sandro Mareco is crowned champion of Argentina Print

The 90th Argentina Absolute Final Chess Championship was held from September 30th to October 14th, 2015, in Buenos Aires.

The event was 14-player round-robin tournament and the strongest Argentinian players competed in 13 rounds to decide the winner.

GM Sandro Mareco, who grabbed the American Continental trophy earlier this year, confirmed his supremacy and emerged a clear winner with 10/13 points. Mareco finished unbeaten and added 15 new Elo point to his rating to pass the “2600 barrier “.

GM Diego Flores remained second with 9.5 points, while GM Fernando Peralta took the bronze with 9 points.
