Asian Chess Championships for Boys and Girls U-20 2015 organized by the Kyrgyz Chess Federation under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation have started in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 3 October 2015. The Championships are included into the FIDE Calendar and are considered as very important competitions for Asian junior chess players for the GM norm can be achieved. Concurrently with the Asian Championships U-20 the Asian Rapid and Blitz U-20 will be held on 5th and 8th October respectively. There are 40 participants from 8 national federations participating in the championships of this year in Bishkek.

The FIDE Technical Delegate of the Asian U-20 Championships is the FIDE Zone 3.4 President Mr. Husan Turdialiev. The Chief Arbiter of the tournament is FIDE IA Abdulkalikov Abdukaram of Uzbekistan.

Concurrent with the competitions, the FIDE Arbiter’s Seminar and FIDE Trainer’s Seminar will be held. FIDE IM Ashot Vardapetyan of Armenia, the lecturer of the Arbiter’s Seminar, will have the examinations to test the arbiters on 4 October. FIDE GM Mikhail Gurevich of Belgium will conduct the Trainer’s Seminar from 9 to 11 October 2015.

The Opening Ceremony of the competitions was conducted on 3 October at 13.30. Participants and guests of the championships were presented with the National Folklore Ensemble performance and national dances to show the culture and traditions of Kyrgyz Republic.

The presentation of the past Asian Championships U-20 organized in Sharjah and Tagaytay, the history of this year championships was shown to the distinguished guests and participants.

Apart from the participants of the Championships, arbiters, accompanying persons, the following guests were present at the Opening Ceremony: the leader of the Political party “Kyrgyzstan”, President of the National Federation Kek Beery Kanatbek Isaev, Director of the Sport’s Department of the National Olympic Committee Sygyndyk Usubaliev, Vice Director of the State Agency in the Government of Kyrgyz Republic Bolot Motukeev, General Manager of the “Jannat” hotels Gulsana Kyshtobaeba, FIDE Zone 3.4 President Husain Turdialiev, Vice President of Kyrgyz Chess Federation Almaz Kennenbaev and the President of Kyrgyz Chess Federation Milan Turpanov.

All guests addressed the participants of the competition with welcoming speech, expressed their sincere wishes of the successful and interesting fight and victories.

The President of Kyrgyz Chess Federation, the main organizer of the competitions, Milan Turpanov in his speech warmly thanked the President of the Asian Chess Federation His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahayan for the high credence given to the Kyrgyz Federation to organize the Asian U-20 championships. He noted a disinterested help of the General Secretary of the Asian Chess Federation Mr. Hisham Al Taher who was supporting them during the whole period of preparations. Also, Milan Turpanov expressed his sincere gratitude to all sponsors and partners who supported the Federation during preparations to the chess festival in Bishkek. He also wished all the participants enjoyable stay in Bishkek, fair play and interesting battles on board.

All the participants and guests were presented with symbolical gifts to remember their stay in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The local simcards which were also added to the present bags will help participants to stay in contact.

Guests and participants of the championships enjoyed the colorful National dances which showed the culture and traditions of Kyrgyz people. President of the Kyrgyz Chess Federation Milan Turpanov officially opened the Asian Junior Chess Championships for Boys and Girls U-20 2015. Asian Junior Chess Championships for Boys and Girls U-20 take place from 3 to 11 October 2015 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The competition consists of 9 rounds, every round will start at 15.00. On 5th and 8th of October there will be Asian U-20 Rapid and Blitz accordingly and the standard chess rounds thus will start at 10.00 in the morning.
