European Deaf Chess Championships started in Baku |

The 22nd European Deaf Chess Championships for Clubs, 3rd Deaf Open Clubs Tournament, and 1st European Deaf Chess Championships for National Deaf Chess Teams (Men, Women & Juniors) started today in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Championship is taking place at the Republican Chess Centre (Club), from 28th September to 4th October, 2015.
The organizers of the event are the International Chess Committee of the Deaf (ICCD), Azerbaijan Ministry of Sports and Youth, Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Azerbaijan Deaf Sports Federation and Republican Chess Centre of Azerbaijan.
The opening ceremony was held today at 11.00 am, with the attendance of tournament officials and participants.
The ECU President, Mr. Zurab Azmaiparashvili was also present at the opening ceremony.
The event consists of 5 tournaments:
Tournament “A” – 22nd European Deaf Chess Championships for Clubs (4 players + 1 reserve)
Tournament “B” – 3rd Deaf Open Clubs Tournament (4 players + 1 reserve)
Tournament “C” – 1st European Deaf Chess Championships for National Deaf Chess Teams (Men) (4 players + 2 reserve)
Tournament “D” – 1st European Deaf Chess Championships for National Deaf Chess Teams (Women) (2 players + 1 reserve)
Tournament “E” – 1st European Deaf Chess Championships for National Deaf Chess Teams (Juniors) (2 players (Juniors) + 1 player (Girl))
All competitions are held according to 7-round Swiss System, with time control 90 minutes each player for the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
