GM Marin Bosiocic winner of 17th Trieste Festival Print

The 17th International Chess Festival of Trieste was held from August 29th to September 5th, 2015, in the city of Trieste, situated at the Italian Adriatic coast.

The event was a 9-round Swiss tournament, open for players rated above 1799.

Croatian GM Marin Bosiocic and Italian GM Alberto David tied for the first place at 7 points each, but Bosiocic clinched the title on a better tie-break score.

The third place was shared in a four-way tie by GM Gyula Pap of Hungary, GM Andrey Vovk of Ukraine, GM Vladimir Baklan of Ukraine and IM Leon Mazi of Slovenia, after the whole group finished the tournament with 6.5 points.

The best female player was Ivana Hrescak of Slovenia, who scored 4.5 points to take 28th position in the final ranking. She played at Elo performace 2273.
