GM Hovik Hayrapetyan wins the 1st League of Armenian Men’s Championship on tie-break |

The First League of the Armenian Individual Men’s Chess Championship took place from August 21st to September 3rd, 2015, in the Armenian capital Yerevan.
The venue of play was the Central House of Chess named after the former World champion Tigran Petrosian.
The event was organized by the Armenian Chess Federation in a 14-player round-robin format. The tempo of play was 90 minutes for 40 moves plus additional 30 minutes until the end of the game plus 30 seconds increment starting from the first move.
Grandmasters Hovik Hayrapetyan and Levon Babujian shared the first place with 9.5/13 points each, but Hayrapetyan clinched the title on a better tie-break score.
The third place was solely taken by IM Manuel Petrosyan who scored 8/13 points.
According to the rules of the competition, the medalists qualified for the Premier League tournament of Armenian Men’s Championship that will take place in January, 2016.
