The 19th Vienna Chess Open is taking place from 15-23 August, 2015. Over 800 chess players from all over the world take part in this international event.
The competition is being held in the traditional Festival Hall of the famous Vienna Town Hall.
The event includes 4 tournaments - A, B, C and D, as well as side events such as the match between GMs Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Markus Ragger, Blitz event, Children's tournament, and simul with GM Ragger.
ECU Board member Mr. Johann Poecksteiner is the organizer of the event, while ECU President Zurab Azmaiparashvili and the President of Austrian Chess Federation Prof. Kurt Jungwirth opened the Vienna Open 2015.
