Bangalore, India team consist of Himanshu Sharma (IM), Stany G A (IM), Sanjay N, Raghunandan Kaumandur Srihari, Satvik M won the Asian Cities Chess championship 2015 for Dubai Cup convincingly scoring 17 match points out of 18. They, from the start played very aggressively and kept the lead throughout. The winning city team was awarded the custody of the Dubai Cup with US$ 3000 and gold medals.

The Asian Cities Chess Championship for Dubai Government was organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka in the highest possible facilities at the beautiful Citrus Hotel in Waskaduwa, Sri Lanka. Fourteen countries participated in this 9 round Swiss System Team event namely, Afghanistan, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Palestine, UAE and Sri Lanka.
Qingdao, China Chess team
The Qingdao, China Chess team with Fang Yuxiang, Xu Zhihang, Zhou Jiangnan, Li Wenxiang, Wang Qingwei scored 15 points and won the second place with US$ 2000 and silver medals. Chess Team from Bishkek City, Kyrgystan consists of Abdyjapar Asyl (IM), Tologontegin Semetey (FM), Isaev Chingys, Taalaibekov Tagir, Mamatov Melis placed third with a score of 14 match points and received the Bronze Medal with 100 USD. Calicut city from India became 4th.

Kandy Chess Team from Sri Lanka managed to place 4th few positions ahead of their senior partners Colombo. The award ceremony was held under the patronage of Mr. Upali Gunasekara, the Principal of Royal College, the former president of Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, Mr. Luxman Wijesuriya, General Secretary of the Commonwealth Chess Association and the Chairman of the organizing committee and Mr. Mehadi Abdul Rahim, the special representative from Dubai Sports Council.
