8th New York International Chess Tournament — Come to the USA and participate in this prestigious event.

The Eighth New York International Chess Tournament will take place over two weeks from July 15-26, 2015 and we would like to extend an invitation to members of your Federation to participate.

From July 15-19 will be the 9 round Championship Section. From July 23-26 will be the 7 round U2200 section.

The Championship Section is an excellent opportunity for both established Grandmasters (the $9,000 prize fund is unconditionally guaranteed) and younger players who seek to obtain IM and GM norms. Last year, players from 22 different federations, including 26 Grandmasters and International Masters, took part, ensuring norm possibilities independent of pairings with foreign players. Norms have been awarded in each of the past three years!

We again expect FIDE titled players from all over the world to compete, ensuring that the 8th NY International will be again a “Super Swiss”, one of only a handful held in the U.S. each year.

The New York International is organized by the historic Marshall Chess Club. In honor of the club's 100th year anniversary the event will take place at on site in the heart of Manhattan's beautiful Greenwich Village.
