5th Sheralam Rapid Chess Tournament at Lahore |

In the suburbs of Faisal Town, CFP organized 5th Sheralam Rapid Chess Tournament on Sunday 1st February, 2015. The one-day, Swiss league event was participated by 48 Chess players from eight cities of Pakistan as far as terror stricken Peshawar. The 5 round event was won by Amir Zahoor from Lahore with 4.5 points. 2nd postion was claimed by Mahver Abbas from Lahore while Ahmad Naeem from Gujranwala grabbed 3rd position.
The 18-years old young player Aqib Javaid Butt shone among the new promising players by his solid performance. He drew a game with National player Muhammad Shafique and won an interesting Bishop ending against Punjab Chess Champion, Nazar Hussain.
Mr. Altaf Ahmad Chaudhry, ex-President CFP was the chief guest at prize distribution ceremony giving away shields to top position holders.
