The PokerStars Isle of Man International Chess Tournament took place on 4-12th October 2014 at the Villa Marina, Isle of Man.

The Master Section was a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament with a time control 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the remaining moves, with 30 seconds added per move from the start.

GM Nigel Short (England) won the event with the convincing 7,5/9 score. Short outplayed his last-round opponent GM David Howell to emerge a clear winner with a full point advance ahead of the nearest followers.

Second place was shared in four-way tie by GM Laurent Fressinet (France), GM David Howell (England), GM Gil Popilski (Israel) and GM Sergei Tiviakov (the Netherlands) on 6,5 points each. You can see the full standings on the list below.
