The 40th Berger Paints National ‘A’ Chess Championship 2014, organsed by Bangladesh Chess Federation sponsored by Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited began from 20th September 2014 at the Media Centre of Bangladesh Olympic Association in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Total 14 players including four GM’s, one IM, four FM’s, 2 CM’s are participating in the event. They are: 1. GM Rahman, Ziaur (2507) Dhaka Mohammedan S.C. Limited, 2. CM Sohel Chowdhury (2163) Leonine Chess Club, FM Islam, Kh. Aminul (2298) of Bangladesh Navy, Bhuiyan, Golam Mostafa (2163) of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, FM Chatterjee Debaraj (2261) Titas Club, IM Minhazuddin, Ahmed (2422) of Bangladesh Navy, FM Haque, Rezaul (2151) Access Group, GM Murshed Niaz (2460) Dhaka Mohammedan S.C. Limited, Masum Hossain (2130) Fire-Service & Civil Defense, CM Ahmed, Mahtabuddin (2127) Dhaka Mohammedan S.C. Limited, FM Ahmed, Sk. Nasir (2280) of Bangladesh Navy, Uten (2127) Access Group, GM Hossain Enamul (2411) of Bangladesh Navy and GM Abdulla Al-Rakib (2521) of Bangladesh Navy. The event is being all play all system. Renowned sports organizer of Bangladesh Mr. Mozaffar Hossain Paltu inaugurated the event. Ms. Reina Ashfin Khan, Manager-Market Research & Consumer Insight of Berger Bangladesh Limited, Mr. K M Shahidullah Chairman Tournament Committee, Mr. Kazi Mofrad Muntasin, Brand Manager, Marketing of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited and Ln. Mazibur Rahman Howladar Secretary of Tournament Committee were present in the inauguration ceremony. A press-briefing was held before one of started the event. Mr. Gazi Shayiful Tarique, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation briefed to the journalists regarding the Berger Paints National ‘A’ Chess Championship-2014.
