The Moscow Mayor's Cup will be held over the weekend, August 30 and 31, in the House of Culture VDNH.

The event will take place in the framework of the summer festival "The best city in the world." The event is organized by the Department of Culture of Moscow, with the support of the Chess Club Petrosian and Moscow Chess Federation.

The first day of competition will see blitz tournaments for amateurs (FIDE rating 2200 and below), juniors, veterans, couples, bughouse, and entertaining interactive program. Also on this day there will be a qualifier blitz for the Moscow Mayor's Cup.

The final tournament for the Cup of the Mayor of Moscow among men and women will take place on the second day. The format will be knock-out with 16 players.

In parallel to the main event, Grandmaster Valentina Gunina - three-time Olympic champion in the Russian team, two-time champion of Russia - will host a simultaneous exhibition.
