Right after its formation, the UOL Chess Society organized a successful Chess tournaments under the aegis of CFP
The UOL Ranking Chess Tournament concluded successfully on 23rd May at the University Campus. After the lunch at 2.00 PM the prize distribution ceremony was held where Pakistan Chess Federation,s Secretary General was the chief guest.
Waqar Ahmad was jubiliant winner of the tournament while Saif Ur Rahman, Khushnud Ahmad and Haider Ullah ended up in 2nd to 4th positions. The top 4 Chess players were awarded shields with cash prizes and earned the right to represent their University Chess team in 2015 Inter University Championship. In his closing speech Dr. Naeem Hamid Mirza generously praised the efforts of newly formed UOL Chess Society. He said that the Society,s president Mr. Haider Ullah and his young coleagues very well managed the organization of Chess tournament. He also explained the details of Federation,s development program and encouraged young aspiring Chess players to adopt the game on regular basis and become full members of the National Federation.
The UOL Chess Society has already started making plans for anothe tournament at a much bigger scale within next two months.
