Double victory of Sean Winshand Cuhendi (INA) at First Saturday Budapest April events

When the 16years old Indonesian representative won the Hotel MEDOSZ Budapest Rapid Open with 100% score nobody thought that he would be the winner of the GM section of the main events as well.

1
FM Sean Winshand Cuhendi (INA)

He started his chess studies rated at 2184 less than a year ago conducted by coaches in Hungary. Amongst his coaches was the legendary Olympic Champion and brilliant tactician GM Gyula Sax (HUN) who passed away unexpectedly just recently. His pupil paid tribute to his beloved memory by this success. The young Indonesian boy is mainly supported by the heroic efforts of his single mother. It is his third IM norm all performed in Budapest.

17 years old FM Petrov Nikita (RUS) of Novorossiysk performed his second IM norm now.

2
FM PETROV, Nikita (RUS)

His first great success was of 2012 Moscow Open where he appeared as a comet performing over 2600 with a surprising GM norm. His trainer has always been his good friend Mr. Sergey Petukhov who is a master candidate not with high rating but undoubtedly a grandmaster of coaching.

The IM section has brought up balanced fight so no IM norm was performed this month.

The winner IM Szeberenyi Adam (HUN) by now seems to be over of the shock suffered by losing his highly respected outstanding coach GM Szekely Peter (HUN) who passed away some years ago.

3
IM SZEBERENYI, Adam (HUN)

FM Keschitz Gyorgy (HUN) was close to his second IM norm but his strong finish came just too late.

FM Tan Justin (AUS) almost repeated his success he achieved just two month earlier at Caissa GM February 2014 Kecskemet (HUN) where he performed IM norm.

As usual there were two FIDE rating groups too where usually young and old generations clash for rating points. The highest rated FM-A section was won by Berta Sandor (16 HUN) followed by the Terbe twin sisters (16, HUN). Their success is not at all accidental but has come as a result of hard work since they created a chess-workshop lead by FM Radnai Adam (HUN) as a main coach.
