Cappelle la Grande Open - Round Six Print

The 30th Cappelle la Grande Open is taking place on 1-8th March at the Palais des Arts in Cappelle-la -Grande, France. The 9-round Swiss open is organized by the L'Echiquier Cappellois chess club and is registered with FIDE and FFE.

A total of 603 players from 49 countries are competing. The prize fund is 30,000 euros, while the winner will earn 3000 euros.

After six rounds of play Indian Grandmaster and former Asian Champion GM Surya Shekhar Ganguly (2623) is topping the standings with 5,5 points.

Half a point behind the leader are KHARITONOV Alexandr RUS 2554, GUPTA Abhijeet IND 2630, MIEZIS Normunds LAT 2548, VOVK Andrey UKR 2605, MALAKHATKO Vadim BEL 2547, BACHMANN Axel PAR 2575, WAN Yunguo CHN 2504, KOVACEVIC Aleksandar SRB 2572, MANOLACHE Marius ROU 2495 and MARTYNOV Pavel RUS 2352.
