The 2014 Australian Chess Championships are being held at Springvale Town Hall, Springvale, Victoria from 2nd to 11th January 2014.

The Australian Chess Championship is the most prestigious event on the Australian Chess calendar, which features many of the country's strongest competitors, striving for the title of national champion.

The 2014 Championships with over $13,000 in prizes to be won, comprises of 4 different events; Australian Championship, Reserves, Challengers and Blitz Championships has attracted over 190 entrants.

There is a live DGT broadcast of the top 7 boards from the Australian Championship and the top board of the Reserves for you to follow via the internet.

Top rated players are GM Vasily Papin 2510, IM Max Illingworth 2440, IM Bobby Cheng 2438, IM Moulthun Ly 2433, GM Tu Hoang Thong 2414 and GM Darryl Johansen 2409.
