Berger Paints 39th National Chess Championship-2013 the National Chess Championship of Bangladesh began from 21st September 2013 at the Media Center of Bangladesh Olympic Association in Olympic Bhaban, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Total 14 players including 4 Grandmasters Reigning Champion Murshed Niaz, Rahman, Ziaur, Abdulla Al-Rakib and Hossain, Enamul 2 International Masters Minhazuddin Ahmed and Abu Sufian Shakil, 5 FIDE Masters Ahmed, Sk. Nasir, Islam Kh. Aminul, Chatterjee Debaraj, Hasan Mehdi and Mohammad Javed and 3 FIDE Rated players Ahmed Shafiq, Md. Jamal Uddin and Mohammed Hafizul Islam Chapal are participating in the event. All grandmasters are directly participating in the event and other 10 players qualified from National ‘B’ Chess. The event is being held in all play all (Round-Robin) system. Mr. Ghulam Mohammed Quader MP Honorable Commerce Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and President of Bangladesh Chess Federation and Mr. Syed Shahed Reza, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association inaugurated the event. GM and IM norm possible from this event. Renowned multinational company Berger Bangladesh Limited sponsoring the event. National ‘A’ Chess Championship is a significant chess event in Bangladesh because selections for the FIDE Events, Asian Events, Zonal and other International Chess events in home and aboard on mainly basic of the national championship.
