The 9th International Chess Tournament in memory of Honorary President of the Chess Federation of Nizhny Tagil E.G. Zudov was held on 12-22nd September in Nizhny Tagil, Russia.
The tournament was the stage of the Cup of Russia in chess among men.
The event gathered 40 players from Moscow, Penza, Samara, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk and Perm regions, as well as representatives of Italy and Ukraine.
Among the participants were Dmitry Kokarev and Marina Romanko, winners of the Moscow Open Cup of Russia.
Grandmaster Dmitry Bocharov 2596 and IM Vladislav Nozdrachev 2479 shared the first place with 6,5/9 points each. Bocharov took the winner's trophy on better tie-break.
The total prize fund was 450,000 RUB, with 75,000 RUB dedicated to the winner.
