GM Szabo Krisztian (HUN) convincingly won the GM section presenting that now he belongs to super GM level. The two whole points ahead of all others is the evidence of this fact. He is gifted with shining tactical skills.

The five GM candidates following him could show up promising play but not in all of their games.

A young Indonesian talent, FM Sean Winshand Cuhendi (INA, 15 years) was another bright spot of the event also showing up brilliant tactical skills. He intended to win all his games and his uncompromising spirit lifted him to victory. He lost twice, both failing in winning positions. Little more self-discipline may help him to be successful in the GM sections too during the following months. Last month he achieved his first IM norm and now he missed the second only by half a point. He is studying chess working hard by the guidance of several professional coaches.

From left: FM Lyell, IM Orsó, FM Sean Winshand, IO Nagy Laszlo, Mr Choky the manager of Winshand

FM Lyell Mark (ENG) had great chance for fulfilling his third IM norm but failed against Hungarian IM-s in the penultimate rounds.

The FM-A section brought the balanced rivalry of two young Hungarian master candidates and Bodi Tibor won it finally only by Berger-Sonneborne. There played four experienced FM-s that assured the master’s level.

The Rating section showed the dominance of experienced masters lead by Marcu Simon (SVK) this time but two little boys, Karacsonyi Gellert (HUN) the youngest participant (9) coached by FM Korpics Zsolt (HUN) and Bakos Viktor (HUN, 12) coached by GM Farago Ivan were already equal partners of all adult opponents.
