FIDE World Junior Chess Championships 2013 for boys & girls under 20 are taking place in Kocaeli, Turkey, from 12th to 27th September 2013.

In the Open section top-seeded GM Yu Yangyi of China continued the winning row by scoring with black pieces against the Russian hope IM Urii Eliseev. Yu Yangyi keeps the lead with 6,5/7 points.

The only player able to keep up the pace is the defending champion GM Alexander Ipatov (Turkey). He beat IM Debashis Das (India) for the sole second place with 6,0 points.

Half a point behind Ipatov are Jorge Cori (Peru), Idani Pouya (Iran) and Indians Sahaj Grover and Sethuraman.

In the Girls section WGM Irina Bulmaga from Romania defeated the overnight leader WIM Medina Warda Aulia (Indonesia) to overtake her in the standings. Bulmaga is now alone on the top with 6,0/7 points.

Medina kept the second position but she is now sharing with Alina Kashlinskaya, the 2011 World Junior Champion Deysi Cori and Georgian Meri Arabidze.
