On Thursday September 5th 2013 culminated fights for winning European Union Youth Chess Championship under 8, 10, 12 and 14 years.
Tournament U8 controlled players from Romania. In category Boys U8 took the first place Bulgariu Andrei (ROU), the second place Jaro Benjamin (HUN) and the third Panturu Octavian-Nicu (ROU). Category Girls U8 overran players from Romania: the first place Obada Ema and then Otetea Ioana and Vulpe Raisa-Georgiana. Champion EU in category B10 has become David Bogdan-Emanuel (ROU), silver medal took Ciccoli Theo (FRA) and the third place took Jazdanovs Aleksandrs (LAT). In category Girls U10 has won Ginovart Camille (FRA), second place took Tomczak Marta (POL) and the third place took Boboc Thea-Elena(ROU). In category Boys U12 has won Semjonovs Ilja (LAT), second place took Hurdzan Tomas (CZE) and the third place took Calin Alexandru (ROU). Champion EU Girls U12 has become Antova Gabriela (BUL), which U12 surpassed even every boy. The second place took Sibajeva Marija (LTU) and the third Kopcova Ludmila (CZE). In category Boys U14 has won Peczely Sebastian Zsombor (HUN), the second place took Tomczak Mikolaj (POL) and the third Nguyen Thai Dai Van (CZE). In category Girls U14 overran players from the Czech Republic. Champion EU U14 has become Kanakova Natalie, the second place took Pychova Nela and the third Janska Jitka (all CZE).
All eight champions EU were leaving Malenovice with a laptop. Players on the second and third place got digital DGT chessclocks. Players who took first three places in each of categories got a cup and diploma. The players on 4rd-6th place got chess prizes. Every player got medal with a place and T-Shirt with logo of EUYCC.
EU Youth Chess Championship 2013 under the patronage of the ECU was organized by ChessClub Svetla nad Sazavou in cooperation with the Czech Chess Federation. Boys and girls have played in the same tournament. Eventually boys and girls were evaluated separately. Tournament had 107 players from 15 federations. All games were on-line transmitted. Young players have been pleased by awarding best game of each round. The end of the EUYCC was shot by Czech Television and in 16:00 we could watch news from EUYCC in news Czech state television.
For all participants and accompanying persons organizers had prepared chess and non-chess leisure time activities. First walk tour was to hill Ivancena. Exciting experience was walk tour to Lysa hora (1323 m). For interested persons have been organized two simultaneous chess games. IM Petr Pisk has beaten his opponents with score 13,5 : 1,5 a game of IM Richard Biolek end it with score 15,5:2,5. There have been 32 players in blitz Tournament. The winner has become Czech coach FM Michal Novotny, the second place took Slovakian gifted player Marek Karas and the third place took experienced English player Chris I Howell. Participants of this tournament had available many leisure time activities. They could use free entry to the salt water pool. Also they could use discount on wellness, sauna, salt cave and other. Every day there were a lot of games of table tennis, table football and bowling. Favorite game became giant chess. On the official website organizers placed photo gallery from tournament and other activities. Photo gallery is still being filling in with interesting photos.
Eventually I would like to thank all players for their performance and fair play, all parents and coaches for cooperation, arbiters for running the tournament and all cooperators for their work. Also I want to invite all chessfriends for the next EUYCC 2014.
